BERNAS is a dedicated section featuring in-depth articles that closely examine specific issues within particular local contexts. To date, BERNAS has published three thematic series, each focusing on a distinct topic:
- the Danau Singkarak, Solok, West Sumatra, written by Albert Rahman Putra;
- the Ciujung River, Lebak, Banten, written by Fuad Fauji; and
- the Harbour of Bangsal, Pemenang, North Lombok, written by Muhammad Sibawaihi.
Within the framework of this section, the names of these locations function as initial reference points—the conceptual points of departure from which each series emerges. From these sites, the authors’ inquiries expand outward, extending to surrounding areas and to broader issues that are relevant to, and interconnected with, the locations that serve as the thematic focus of each series.
