In the Lapangan Perintis there was a final match in badminton then. Local residents flocked to watch the match. The tension in their eyes, the sound of the supporters’ voices, and the simultaneous movement of their heads and the glances of the spectators’ eyes follow to where the shuttlecocks are targeted by the athletes in the middle of the fight; they’re all forming a rhythm that implies a certain aesthetic. This video frames the event as an artistic experience.
Today’s Match is a video work produced by akumassa in the akumassa Ad hoc Project in 2013. This project was initiated in the framework of participating the 15th Jakarta Biennale 2013: SIASAT.
